Marcia Pyner is an illustrator and fine artist who loves to showcase God’s handiwork with her own work!  An avid hiker, she often takes pictures along the way and comes home to bring them to life on the canvas! Her illustrations vary by project.

Professionally trained, Marcia has a Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design from East Carolina University and a Master of Fine Art in Communication Arts from The University of Illinois in Chicago, where she was inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi . She began her art career as Art Director of Putt Putt Golf Courses, and later worked in graphic design for McKinney, Silver, and Rockett; a premier N.C. ad agency. While living in Berlin, Germany Marcia was president of The American Art Guild, and after returning to the states, she worked with Art Works, a NYC based illustration agency, to produce a wide variety of projects. Her clients have included: Ballantine Books, Barbour Books, Zebra Books, Dell Books, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Guideposts Magazine, Potpourri Designs, The Washington Post, and The Williamsburg Foundation.

Marcia has taught design courses at Armstrong College in Savannah, Georgia and at Northern Virginia Community College. She also taught art to sixth through twelfth graders at Brentsville District Middle/High School in Prince William County, Va., where she was named to “Who’s Who among American Teachers”.

Working from her home studio in the Charlotte, N.C. area, Marcia is taking free-lance illustration projects as well as fine art commissions.
