Does anyone else hear the call? I do … I fairly “scream for ice cream”! This cute little cone is an illustration that I did years ago for a children’s story called, “Food that comes Alive”, published by Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich. She is PINK and I do love pink!… Look what my Mary gave me for Christmas…PINK soap in magnolia scent from Charleston … and smelling divine! I’m sure if I could eat it I would. Included is another book that I illustrated, “Comfort Food ” by Ellen W. Gaughey, published by Barbour Books. Here is the truth…comfort food!!!! Even “Halo Top” ice cream does not comfort after an entire pint has been consumed in one sitting! I know this by experience. No halo here! We all crave comfort; and, we find it in different ways. What does God say about comfort? In Isaiah 40 He says, “Comfort comfort my people!”! My new PINK women’s devotional bible that my Wendi gave me for Christmas tells me this…and a lot more! It says that our Father longs to take us in to His arms and comfort us! So…the next time I hear that cute little PINK cone calling me, I think I”ll reach for the comfort that never fails ! “Lord, open my eyes that I might see, the wonderful things in your word!”
