” La Vie en Rose! ” It is the French way of saying one is seeing the world through rose colored glasses! This phenomenon could best be described as a sort of selective attention to or observation of things beautiful, to the exclusion of things ugly or dreary. My cat does this! When Punkin puts on his rose colored glasses, he is headed out the door for a stroll … just to take a look! He usually contemplates his journey first, and then the primrose path calls to him. Could we do this too? In Philippians 4:8 it is written,” Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things and the God of peace will be with you. Peace! Wow! Who doesn’t want peace? Of course we live in the real world …. where sin and sorrow abound! There are rocks and briars and pitfalls along the way …absolutely… but as Henri Matisse said, ” There are always flowers for those who want to see them! ” The painting that I call “Beauty along the Way”, 11″ X14 ” and done in soft pastel, is a great example of turning something rather blah into something…well, PINK…rosy pink! Here is the painting, the reference photograph, and of course Punkin … Thanks, Punkin …. for letting me borrow your glasses! It’s the artist’s license, after all … “La Vie en Rose” everyone!
“Beauty along the Way” was selected for the Women Painters of the Southeast, sixth annual Juried Exhibition 2017! Voila!!
Yes…much better to walk in the way of the rose than the thorns! Thanks, Marcia
